Documents & Forms

What the Tally connector can do

Tally is a form builder for surveys, signups, and intake forms, with an API for forms and their submissions. Connected to type.com, Tally lets Claude create a form from a plain description, inspect an existing form's setup, retire forms you no longer use, and add or remove webhooks that route responses elsewhere, with your team reviewing the work in one thread.

One connection, many Spaces

Connect Tally once, then decide which Spaces can use it in threads, skills, automations, and coding work.

What teams do with Tally in type.com

Draft a form from a brief

Describe the questions and settings you need, and the agent builds the Tally form so the team can review it before sharing the link.

Try asking
Create a Tally form for beta signups with name, work email, company size, and a short 'what would you use it for' field.

Route responses with a webhook

Attach a webhook to a form so each submission is sent to the system that needs it, then confirm the setup in the thread.

Try asking
Create a webhook on our Tally 'Partner application' form that posts submissions to this URL.

Clean up old forms

Review details on forms from past campaigns and delete the ones nobody needs anymore, along with their webhooks, so the account stays easy to navigate.

Try asking
Show me details for the Tally form 'Summer event RSVP', then delete it and its webhook if it has no recent use.

Representative actions

  • Delete Form

Removes a form by ID once you have confirmed it is no longer needed.

  • Delete Webhook

  • Get Form Details

Returns full metadata for a form, including its structure and settings.

Connection

API and auth details

Tally's API gives programmatic access to forms and submissions. Integrations can create forms, fetch form metadata, sync responses, and automate form-driven workflows; Tally also publishes an MCP server for natural-language form operations.

FAQ

Questions people ask before connecting Tally

Can Claude build Tally forms from a description?

Yes. In a type.com Space with Tally connected, describe the form in a thread and Claude creates it. It can also read form details, add or remove webhooks, and delete forms you no longer use.

How do I authenticate Tally?

Tally supports an API key, added once to the connection, or signing in with OAuth. Admins share the connection with the Spaces that manage forms, and credentials stay out of threads.

Who on my team can create or delete Tally forms?

People in Spaces the Tally connection is shared with. Admins pick those Spaces, so only the teams responsible for forms can have the agent change them.

Is this the same as a Tally MCP server?

Not exactly. type.com uses connectors and connections to give selected Spaces access to approved app tools and data. Some connectors use hosted MCP, while others use OAuth, API keys, service accounts, or custom APIs.
